Rinse Laundry Care

This is hypothetical product packaging for a laundry care company I created called Rinse. It is a contemporary laundry care brand with a flexible, maverick spirit. The packaging aims to silence unnecessary words, phrases, and claims with its visual design. The shape of the bottles are designed to be neatly displayed in any home and save storage space. The size of the bottles allow the user to distinguish which product they are using (laundry detergent, fabric softener, or scent booster) while the color is used to distinguish the scent.
The first challenge I faced was creating the shape of the product bottles. Since there are many existing laundry care brands and users usually purchase products they are most familiar with, I thought it was important for Rinse’s products to stand out on the shelves. The bottles I created are not only unique, but they solve space-saving issues that users have with the typical, clunky laundry care bottles.

The second challenge I faced was finalizing the visual language of the products. At first, I focused on visuals that were loud, flashy, and full of patterns. Although I liked the way my preliminary digital variations looked, I felt that they did not reflect the products only task: to clean clothes. For this reason, I decided to incorporate illustrations of gender-neutral clothing and a more subtle color palette.
